Expanding in malawi

AuKing Mining Limited (ASX: AKN) announced on 18 August 2026 that it has agreed to acquire 100% of the issued shares in Malawi-incorporated Green Exploration Limited (GEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tusker Minerals Limited (ASX: TSK).

The acquisition delivers four exploration licences: Machinga heavy rare earths, Salambidwe rare earths, Ngala Hill copper and PGE, all in southern Malawi, plus Karonga copper in the north. Three sit within operational reach of AuKing’s base at Zomba and its Tundulu rare earths project.

Completion is conditional on ASX confirming that Chapter 11 re-compliance is not required, with a long-stop date of 30 September 2026. AuKing has also flagged a proposed copper spinout combining Ngala Hill and Karonga with its existing copper interests.
