Antimony Canyon Project Maiden Drilling

American Tungsten & Antimony Ltd (ASX: AT4) delivers strong first-pass drilling results in Utah

American Tungsten & Antimony Limited has announced encouraging results from its maiden drilling campaign at the Antimony Canyon Project in Utah, with four of the first seven holes intersecting high-grade antimony mineralisation at shallow depths.

Notable intercepts include 11.03 metres at 3.1% antimony from 25.91 metres down-hole in hole ACP26DD010, including a higher-grade section of 2.62 metres at 12.54% antimony. Hole ACP26DD005 returned 8.47 metres at 2.67% antimony from 31.15 metres, including 2.2 metres at 9.69% antimony.

These intercepts compare favourably with typical western antimony vein systems, which commonly average around 30 centimetres. The widths encountered are more consistent with stratiform systems seen in major antimony districts, including the Xikuangshan district in China.

Managing Director Andre Booyzen commented: “Intersecting mineralisation in four of our first seven holes is a solid start at Antimony Canyon, with grades of up to 66.47% antimony highlighting the strength of the system. These grades compare well with those reported from other North American antimony deposits.”

A select interval within hole ACP26DD010 returned 66.47% antimony over 0.31 metres.

Surface sampling supports drilling results

Surface work at the historic Little Emma open pit has returned additional high-grade results, with grab samples assaying 29.4%, 18.7%, and 14.9% antimony. Twelve samples exceeded 4% antimony, providing further validation of the mineralised system and potential drill targets.

Geological context

The mineralisation at Antimony Canyon occurs within flat-lying “Salt & Pepper” tuff host rocks, with stibnite present in hydrothermal breccias. The geological setting shares some features with the Xikuangshan district in China, including calcareous host rocks and structural controls on mineralisation.

Exploration Target

The drilling results provide support for the previously announced Exploration Target of 6.1-6.9 million tonnes at 1.4-2.3% antimony (containing 86,000-158,000 tonnes of antimony) across the Company’s 100%-owned patented claims. Several intercepts are consistent with or exceed the grade and thickness assumptions underpinning that target.

Next steps

The Company is progressing with:

IP and EM geophysical surveys to refine targets

Work programs submitted for Black Jack and Tan Jack prospects

Further drilling to test extensions of the mineralised system

Assessment of a conductor identified in CSAMT data that may represent a fluid feeder structure

Background

Antimony is considered a critical mineral for defence applications, flame retardants, and battery technology. The Company holds 20 patented claims at Antimony Canyon and is advancing the project as part of its strategy to develop conflict-free US critical mineral supplies.
