The geology team behind G2 Goldfields’ Oko-Ghanie discovery has joined Liberty Metals’ exploration team in Guyana. The team is led by Boaz Wade, G2’s former Vice President Exploration, and took Oko-Ghanie from a greenfields target to a 3.5Moz resource in about five years. That work ended in G Mining Ventures’ C$3.0 billion takeover of G2. The team’s former ground directly abuts Liberty’s Oko North block, where first rock chips have already confirmed gold in bedrock. They will now work alongside Exploration Manager Finlay Goodwin across both Oko North and Oko South, with soil sampling underway and a maiden drilling program the target. No holes have yet been drilled on Liberty’s ground.
