Visible gold at Oko North
Maiden fieldwork has identified coarse, angular visible gold in the artisanal workings at Oko North, together with basement shearing, quartz veining and hydrothermal alteration. The Company interprets a proximal hard rock source within its own tenure. Fifty-five rock chip samples are with the laboratory.
Maiden fieldwork, 3 September 2026
Liberty Metals has reported the first results from its maiden field campaign at Oko North. The Company has identified coarse visible gold in the artisanal workings, together with basement shearing, quartz veining and hydrothermal alteration, and interprets the gold as fed from hard rock sources within its own tenure. Fifty-five rock chip samples have been submitted for laboratory assay, with results expected in four to six weeks.
Coarse, angular visible gold
Key
Visible gold has been observed in a number of the workings and in associated quartz veining. The Company reports the gold as coarse and angular in morphology, and interprets it as fed directly from hard rock sources within the tenure.
Angular gold does not travel far
Why it matters
Gold transported any distance down a drainage system is rounded and flattened by abrasion. Coarse angular grains indicate the source is close by. Taken with the Company’s drainage basin analysis, this is the first field evidence pointing to a proximal hard rock source rather than gold shed from elsewhere.

Structure
Field mapping has identified basement shearing, quartz veining and hydrothermal alteration within the interpreted Oko structural corridor. The appendix records shearing in basement granites with quartz stockwork veining, and a weathered quartz vein carrying boxwork textures.

Weathering
Boxwork forms where sulphides have oxidised out of a vein and left a lattice of cavities behind. Its presence indicates a sulphide bearing hard rock vein that has been weathered in place, rather than transported material.

Fifty-five rock chip samples have been collected from priority areas across Oko North and submitted for laboratory assay. Results are expected in four to six weeks and will be the first quantitative data returned from the tenure.
The soil program is running

The maiden systematic soil geochemical program of approximately 5,000 samples commenced in the September quarter and is ongoing, analysed in field by pXRF and DetectORE™ to define and prioritise gold-in-soil anomalies ahead of trenching and maiden drill targets.

Coarse, angular visible gold

Alluvial and saprolite, both
Active workings recovering gold from alluvial and saprolite sources. Saprolite is weathered bedrock still sitting where it formed. Miners working saprolite are taking gold from rock that has not moved, which is a different proposition from washing gravel out of a creek bed.

What is accurate and what is not. The frame, the grid, the scale bar and the three labelled observation points are accurate: the coordinates come from the Company and the projection is true. The tenement outline and the alluvial workings are traced by eye from the Company’s published map against its printed grid, so their positions are close but not surveyed. The drainage basins and the shear corridor are schematic. Do not use this plan to determine the location or extent of any permit.

The vertical gap
Everything recovered from Liberty’s tenure to date has come from surface material. The neighbouring deposit is mined from an open pit reaching roughly 640 metres, with mineralisation reported open past 1,000 metres. Between the base of the historic workings and the depth at which the neighbour is still returning grade lies an interval that has never been tested anywhere on Liberty’s ground.

Artisanal and historic workings across the district reach roughly 70 to 100 metres. Peters Mine produced 41,915oz at head grades around 40 g/t entirely from within that range.
The neighbouring pit reaches 640m

The Kairuni open pit resource was calculated to a depth of approximately 640 metres, with a separate underground resource beneath it grading higher than the pit at 3.12 g/t Inferred.
Still open past 1,000 metres
Open
Mineralisation at Block 4 has been traced to depths of over 1,000 metres down dip and remains open below the limits of the defined resource.

The updated resource lifted Indicated grade by 11.6 per cent, which the operator attributed to increasing grades at depth in the Block 4 area.

They are drawn from Reunion Gold and G Mining Ventures disclosures and are not necessarily indicative of mineralisation within Liberty’s tenure. The case for a system at depth
Every ounce mined on this tenure to date has come from surface material. The question the exploration program is built to answer is what sits beneath it.
Historic mining stopped at 70 metres
District precedent
Peters Mine, the first gold mine in Guyana, produced 41,915oz between 1905 and 1909 at head grades around 40 g/t, all of it from within 70 to 100 metres of surface. Fewer than 20,000 metres of drilling have been completed on that property in its entire history.
The systems continue past 400 metres
District precedent
Peer drilling in the district has returned 14.3m at 8.2 g/t from 433 metres downhole, with resource zones left open below 350 metres vertical. The shear hosted orogenic style carries well below anything reachable by hand.
A vertical gap of 300 metres or more
The opportunity
Between the depth artisanal miners can reach and the depth at which neighbouring systems are still returning grade lies a vertical interval that has never been tested anywhere on Liberty’s ground. Defining a drill target into that interval is the stated objective of the current program.
Surface evidence now points downward

Before this campaign the argument for a hard rock source rested on the presence of workings. It now rests on coarse angular gold, mapped basement shearing, quartz veining, hydrothermal alteration and boxwork textures, all reported from within the tenure.
Assays are the next gate
Sequence
Rock chip results in four to six weeks, then coherent gold-in-soil anomalies from the 5,000 sample program, then trenching, then maiden drill targets. Each step either supports the interpretation or does not.
Where this sits
Oko North directly abuts ground held by G2 Goldfields, now consolidated into G Mining Ventures, in proximity to the New Oko Discovery. The Oko district hosts approximately 9.3Moz of gold delineated over the past five years, all of it on ground held by other parties. Liberty Metals holds approximately 180km² across 40 granted permits in two consolidated blocks, on which no Mineral Resource has been estimated and no drilling has been undertaken.
