AuKing Mining (ASX: AKN) has secured the right to earn up to 75% of the Qeqertaasaq niobium and rare earths project in West Greenland, with no upfront acquisition cost. The 3 x 5 km carbonatite complex near Nuuk has more than 10,000 metres of historical drilling, including 84.37m @ 0.51% Nb₂O₅ from 13.35m, with surface samples up to 11.8% Nb₂O₅ and rare earth trenching up to 13.23% TREO.
The deal arrives as Greenland moves to the centre of Western critical minerals strategy. A new US, Denmark and Greenland security treaty favours allied investors such as Australian companies, and Brazil currently supplies around 93% of the world’s niobium.
Our full interactive report covers the deal terms, the historical drilling, the rare earths upside and how Qeqertaasaq compares with other Greenland plays.
